This is a documentary review, not a completed checkout, account-level trial or measured time-saving experiment. Existing customers should check their own renewal terms.

How Much Does Meco Cost in 2026?

The official Pro overview lists US$4.99 monthly without a trial or US$39.99 annually following a seven-day trial. Free is a separate newsletter-reading plan. The annual equivalent is US$39.99 ÷ 12, approximately US$3.33/month; it does not mean that amount is charged each month. Prices may vary by country and platform. A lower twelve-month total does not make an annual commitment suitable for every reader.

• Pro monthly: US$4.99 billed monthly, with no trial.
• Pro annual: US$39.99 billed annually following a seven-day trial. At the published rates, twelve monthly payments total US$59.88.

The published USD offer is a reference, not a guarantee of the same amount on every App Store, Google Play or web purchase screen. Use the price and renewal conditions shown where you subscribe. We did not test payment-method onboarding, taxes, refunds or an authenticated plan change.

What Do You Get on Meco's Free Plan?

Free provides a dedicated Meco address for newsletter subscriptions, reading, groups, bookmarks and generic audio news summaries. It does not connect an existing Gmail or Outlook inbox. Pro adds those connections and offline reading, along with AI text and personalized audio. The general FAQ separates the two plans; an app-store rating or a newsletter-count threshold does not tell you whether Free meets your needs.

With Free, subscribe newsletters to your Meco address or update the subscription address with the publisher. Pro's optional Gmail/Outlook integration can route selected newsletters into Meco labels/folders and away from the inbox. That is different from merely forwarding mail. Review connection and deletion behavior before changing an integrated mailbox; an action on connected mail can affect the underlying email account.

Choose Free if receiving newsletters at a dedicated address and using its reading/organization features fits your routine. Consider Pro if you need existing inbox connections, offline access or its specific AI and read-later features. There is no required number of newsletters that makes either choice correct.

What does Meco Pro add?

Pro adds up to three connected Gmail/Outlook accounts, AI text summaries, personalized audio, saving/highlighting and offline access. Those are the paid jobs to compare with your own use. The official overview is the plan reference; do not assume every item described in an older review is a current entitlement on every platform.

Daily Brief is personalized audio built from selected newsletters and delivered at a chosen daily time. Generation depends on enough eligible recent unread content. It is a cross-newsletter listening workflow. The reviewed documentation does not establish that this audio feature is the same as an automatically synthesized thematic text email.

Try text summaries and Daily Brief separately if you evaluate Pro. Check whether the included material matches your selected newsletters and whether audio or reading is more useful for your task. AI can omit context or make mistakes; compare important details with source material you can access.

For cancellation, use the channel where you subscribed. The account-settings guide directs iOS purchasers to App Store subscriptions, Android purchasers to Google Play subscriptions, and web purchasers to Web Reader Settings → Help & Support → Manage PRO subscription, which opens Stripe. Deleting an account is separate from canceling a purchased subscription. These are published instructions, not a cancellation flow we executed.

How do the prices and workflows compare?

Compare the paid feature you need and the actual billing commitment. A free RSS reader, an annual newsletter subscription and a monthly source-summary service are different offers. The details behind a lower advertised number matter. An annual equivalent cannot be treated as a monthly charge, and “AI” may mean an article summary, filtering, library research or a scheduled audio/text output. Compare the plan that actually includes the job.

1. Inoreader: Free RSS intake is different from Pro newsletter intake. AI reports require a reports add-on for Pro or Custom, or are included with Team Intelligence; Email Digests require Team or a Custom add-on. Do not infer those email/report features from an ordinary Pro price. See official pricing.
2. Feedly: reader plans and Market Intelligence AI Actions have different entitlements; a Pro price does not establish generative summary access.
3. Reader: Full includes Reader, but automatic incoming Feed/newsletter summaries require a funded OpenAI API key and API usage charges. Automatic summaries of manually saved Library documents are available by default. Global Ghostreader researches across the library with citations on web/desktop; mobile retains individual-document chat. Daily Digest emails serve triage and rediscovery. 4. Readless: Pro provides Concise and Detailed individual source summaries with up to three schedules. Optional Hot Topics can highlight a specific story covered by at least two distinct newsletter senders; individual source summaries remain separate. Readless summarizes eligible newsletter content it receives and connected Substack or RSS content it can access. Feed excerpts, paywalls, missing content and processing success can limit coverage. Forwarding does not import a Meco reading archive or remove the original messages from your inbox. Summaries and ad filtering can make mistakes or omit material; use available original links to check important context. Pro is US$4.90/month and Max is US$9/month, both billed monthly in USD. Max is a paid plan, not an automatic part of the Pro trial.

Is Meco PRO Worth the Upgrade?

Consider Pro when its connected-inbox, offline, text-summary or personalized-audio features solve a task you have. A dedicated-address Free account may be sufficient if you want a reading place and generic news audio. The choice does not depend on a claimed industry email volume, a fixed number of subscriptions or an assumed return on attention.

Consider Meco Pro if:

• You want to connect existing Gmail/Outlook inboxes and the documented limit of three connected accounts fits.
• You want Meco's AI text summaries or personalized scheduled audio and can evaluate them with eligible content.
• You need saving/highlighting or offline reading, and those features work for the material and platform you use.

Consider Meco Free if:

• You can subscribe newsletters to a dedicated Meco address.
• Groups, newsletter bookmarks, reading and generic audio news summaries cover the task.
• You do not need connected Gmail/Outlook inboxes or Pro's offline, AI text and personalized-audio features.

Compare another workflow if:

What should you check before committing?

Use your own sources and reading tasks for a small proposed evaluation. Note setup effort, missing content, summary errors, playback usefulness and any time spent checking originals. This is a reader-run exercise, not a performed study or promised time saving. You can learn whether a workflow fits without turning a newsletter-count threshold into a purchasing rule.

If a feature is essential, check it before committing to an annual payment. A published feature list is not proof that every publisher, article or device behaves the same way. Record your own result rather than borrowing a testimonial or a claimed percentage saving from another workflow.
